Welding & Construction students intern at American Heavy Plates

American Heavy Plates tour
Thirteen SHCC students have been selected to intern at American Heavy Plates (AHP), the go-to heavy plate provider for American manufacturing. AHP is revolutionizing the steel plate buying experience, providing steel ingots and slabs for the industry.
Students underwent safety training on Wednesday, April 21, and four students completed their shifts the same day, with the remaining students starting shifts within the next week. Students will work on their internships until the end of the year.
In addition, fifteen seniors and ten juniors from SHCC toured the company located in Clarington. The tour was conducted by Jeff Thompson, Vice President of Operations.
