Our teachers are working hard to ensure students are feeling positive and motivated during this school closure. Ms. Felicia Trentacoste has been continuing with recognizing a Student of the Month, something she has been doing all school year. Ms. Trentacoste has been working hard to implement this new tradition by recognizing students on Twitter and Facebook. She also takes any shout outs from other teachers and posts them with pictures, gifs, etc.

Principal Joe Semple states, “It’s important to recognize students while we are in school, and especially now that we’re out – we need to do whatever we can to keep them connected and engaged.”

Ms. Trentacoste and Ms. Tanis Langsdorf, Educational Aide, have been brainstorming on how to keep students engaged remotely during this time. Ms. Trentacoste says:

“We have done daily challenges and posts to get student and staff involvement to better learn about everyone’s interests… Last week we did a picture challenge where they had to post 3 pictures of their favorites, like movies/TV shows, animals, restaurants, vacation spots, etc. This week we are doing pictures based on nature, like anything in bloom, alive, plants that have our school colors. I have also posted challenges from Character Strong for 30 days of kindness.”

We are all proud of how hard your students have been working despite the current circumstances. Don’t forget to tell them you’re proud of them!
