This February, Dr. Vicky Wood, President of Washington State Community College (WSCC), and her Workforce Development Team will be visiting the Swiss Hills Innovation Lab. WSCC and SOLSD have been working to offer college credit courses for our students that will allow them to save thousands of dollars when they go off to college. Dr. Wood and her team will be finalizing the curriculum and teacher credentialing so that students enrolled in the high schools will have this opportunity to take courses that will save them money if they choose to pursue education after high school. Courses will also be made available to individuals enrolled in the adult programs. In addition, SOLSD is working on an agreement to provide a WSCC satellite campus opportunity for Monroe County students. This would mean that students would have access to a WSCC campus in their own backyards.

WSCC will align the Welding, Industrial Technology, Engineering, Chemical Operator/Computerized Numerical Control, Business (Financial Literacy), Health Information Management (including STNA), and Cosmetology programs.

Keep on the lookout for more information.
