Welcome, New School Board Members!
On January 9, 2020, the Switzerland of Ohio school district welcomed three board members elected/re-elected in November 2019: Bev Anderson, who is returning for her second term; Ron Winkler, who is returning for his 27th year; and newly-elected Greg Schumacher. These board members join Sarah Smith and Jerry Gust, who are in the middle of their current terms.
Sarah Smith was sworn in as President of the board, with Bev Anderson confirmed as Vice President.
“I am proud to take on the role of President this year,” says Ms. Smith, who is serving a second term as President for the Switzerland of Ohio school board. “The district offers so much to our students, families, and community by focusing on developing student skills that are crucial to success in this changing world. Our staff has an approach of ‘continuous improvement,’ always looking for a better way to achieve our goals.”
Ms. Anderson echoed these thoughts, adding, “I’m also very excited about our new administration and where they are taking the district – of course academically, but also by evaluating and improving systems and processes in various areas. Mr. Rob Caldwell, our new superintendent, and Ms. Cyndi Brill, our new associate superintendent, are leading these efforts and are truly committed to serving this community to the best of their abilities.”
