SkillsUSA students compete in Regional & State Championships
Kristin King & Hunter Childress
Despite the pandemic, SkillsUSA students have managed to stay busy preparing and competing against other career centers in the state. We have had one team and one individual compete at SkillsUSA competitions so far; the construction trades will be competing later this month in the teamworks competition.
The Med-Tech team recently competed in the Ohio Skills State Championships on March 25. The competition was held in the Med-Tech classroom on the school campus due to the pandemic. Students competed using Kahoot online for questions and answers, and were then given a test to determine their knowledge in the material. Each of the team members is part of the Med-Tech program under the direction of Laura Yontz at Swiss Hills. Team members include:
-
Hunter Childress
-
Raelan Hoops
-
Kristin King
-
Hannah Moore
In addition, senior welding student Richard Fackler competed in the Skills USA Regional Competition for Welding.
Congratulations to all of those who have competed so far and good luck to all participants who will be competing!
