NIMS

Beginning next week, SOLSD will be offering classes for high school and adult manufacturing students to receive their National Institute of Metalworking Skills (NIMS) credential. This class will be offered through the assistance of the Robert C. Byrd Institute (RCBI), a resource for manufacturers, small businesses, entrepreneurs, and innovators. RCBI promotes STEM engagement and encourages students to consider careers in those in-demand fields.

In pursuing NIMS credentials, students learn and demonstrate metalworking skills that meet industry established standards. These credentials allow individuals to secure a competitive edge when applying for jobs, and they never expire.
