This has been an adjustment for all of us: online schooling, limited social interactions, and many people not being able to work. A great emotional outlet is letting your mind be creative! Journal, paint, sew, cook, make crafts with your kids around the house, whatever you can dream up.

A couple of the Switzerland local schools have teamed up to put their creative minds to use in a way that gives back to the community: making masks for local healthcare workers and first responders. Resources are running low all around, especially in the area of healthcare and first responders, and we want to give back in any way we can.

Mr. Eric James, River Elementary’s principal, Mr. Ed Trinoff, River High’s principal, Mr. Casey Tolzda, Beallsville’s principal, Mr. Chris Caldwell, Skyvue Elementary’s principal, and Mr. Zac Housely, Powhatan Elementary’s principal, have teamed up to lend the schools’ 3D printers to having masks be made for this cause. Without all of these machines, River would only be able to produce four shields per day.
